Salmon (wild)

Anticancer. Anti-inflammatory. Brain health. Cardiovascular health. Joint health. Skin health. No fish offers higher concentrations of healthful omega-3 fatty acids than wild salmon. Omega-3s are credited with decreasing inflammation throughout the body and thereby improving brain, cardiovascular, skin, and joint health. Omega-3s may even play a role in reducing the risk of a leading cause of blindness: macular degeneration. Wild salmon is also a top source of vitamin D, which is hard to find in abundance in food sources, and getting sufficient vitamin D is linked to reduced risk of colon, prostate, and breast cancer.

It is important to note that farmed raised Salmon does not have the same nutritional value as wild caught, as they are grain fed which decreases the omega-3s. Being raised in confined spaces also increases their intake of toxins such as mercury. Ovoid farmed raised fish when possible.
